Tonight, I built this.

It crackles & hisses like I so often do. Heats, scorched, burns and
cooks like I must. Also, it keeps my limbs from freezing. Thaws. As I
hope to.

Tap tap tap

I wait and I work.
I work and I wait.
And still,
tap tap tapping my feet,
nothing comes.

Night remains a fog.

Recipe

Arepita de yucca a.k.a. yucca latkes

see your yucca
touch your yucca
break it open
take it home

grate your yucca
touch your yucca
watch it flake off your fingers

add:
salt
anise (not the star kind but the kind that comes in the mix you put in your mouth at the end of dinner)
one, maybe two eggs for glue
pepper

mix by hand

take a ball of mix and fit it in your palm until it looks like a drop of rain

heat oil - vegetable or peanut or coconut, but not olive, let it get really hot then turn the heat down a little so your rain drops won't burn

place, gently, the rain drop of yucca in the oil and cook
until golden
until they look to good to pass up
until you just can't take it anymore

when they're ready, you'll be able to take them out and place them on a paper-towel (or paper bag, or napkin, or...) to cool

Eat. With your hands, preferably.

thinking a lot about

today is Night.
I'm praying to the webs and their ladies and ladyboys

Sarah Palin quotes to remember:

"Darn right it was the predator lenders"

"Joe Six Pack, hockey moms across the nation, I think we need to band together and say never again"

"I do take issue with some of the principle there with that redistribution of wealth principle that seems to be espoused by you."

"And how long have I been at this, like five weeks? "

"The way in which we can stop the greenhouse gases from emitting."
